K. E. Kent Transport Ltd was formed in 1972 by Ken Kent. The business started with one secondhand FORD ‘D series and Ken worked hard to establish the company by having civility, respect and old fashion values. Very quickly the client base expanded and so did the fleet of vehicles to serve local companies in various industries who were seeking a cost-effective and reliable haulage contractor.
As client demands grew so did the requirements meaning Ken had to steer the company into what was at the time considered a new concept and purchased the companies first self-loading crane vehicle. Over the decades the company naturally expanded and new business models were trialled, tweaked and introduced to our service. The company was then and still today never afraid to try something new.
As a result of those trials, the company now has more than 20 acres of open storage, a 60,000 sqft covered warehouse, 20,000 sqft of office space and a fully equipped MOT standard commercial vehicle workshop.
